Today was pretty fun. I was off on my own all day and only got a little lost. They don't have street signs like we do. They are like blocks on the buildings with the names so you have to look hard! I went and did this underground Naples tour. They didn't build outside the city walls they just built on old buildings. We saw part of a theatre that was under some houses. Then we went 90 ft underground and saw these big wells that ran under the whole city. At one point after the water was drained people just threw their trash in the wells. During the war they basically covered over the garbage with cement because people lived down there to escape the bombs. We got to see three of the bombs that had fallen. The guide took us to see where there was still some flowing water. We had to walk sideways because the walls were so close together. I guess the guide could see the panic on my face for being in such a tiny place so he talked to me the whole time asking questions to get my mind off of being claustrophobic! But I made it out alive so I was thrilled. I went to their national museum and it was ok. Paintings and sculptures were pretty much the only things there. Apparently the men back then didn't believe in pants cuz very few of them were covered!! My whole mission today was to find an adapter since mine didn't work. Everyone kept pointing me to different stores but I finally found one! It was closed for lunch so I found a place with wine and some delicious homemade tiramisu! I came back after that and then went out with some of the people in my hostel. There are people on the streets here selling iPads and iPhones. They bought one and it just turned out to be a tile. They only paid 50 euro but they guy at the hostel said someone a few weeks ago paid 200!!! That's rough.
Oh and of course I found the Disney store!!
Lesson 3 don't buy expensive things in the street
Lesson 4 if you need help either know the word or have a map or the thing you are looking for! No one knew what I was saying while asking about the adapter
