Germany-baumholder

Sunday morning was a mess! There's two airports in Frankfurt and Ryanair flies into the smaller one that's like two hours from Frankfurt. I was going to take a train out to near where Carrie lives but couldn't actually get to a train station since its Sunday and the bus didn't run and I didn't want to take a shuttle for two hours to take a train for two hours. Thank goodness that Frankfurt Hahn is only an hour from Carrie and Ashley because I got so frustrated that I made Ashley come pick me up. It was so good to see him! He's like my brother and since they left nc two yrs ago I only got to see them at Christmas for a few hours. We had some lunch and then came back to base. I definitely think I was way too excited to go onto an army base. I got my own id card and everything! So official! Ashley took me around base and was trying to explain things to me using all kinds of acronyms and I didn't understand any of it!

On Monday i just stayed at their house and did laundry and just kinda hung out. It was nice to not be rushing off to do stuff early in the morning. Their base is not really close to anything and I would need a car to get to a train station. Carrie made mashed potatoes and shrimp burgers for dinner!!! She makes the best mashed potatoes ever. When we lived together she always made those and okra because it's my favorite. It has been awesome to get to see her. She's my big in my sorority but she's pretty much just my sister. Her daughter Aubrey is almost a yr old and is absolutely adorable!! She likes to say her name a lot and she won't let anyone hold her that isn't her mother. Today is Friday and she is just know getting used to me that I can play with her and she doesn't freak out.

Tuesday Ashley took me to the fight house, he teaches military combatives I think it's like jiu jitsu. Then we went to the barracks where all of the guys in his company live. His best friend is still living there so he made him come out and meet me. I think some guy just randomly walked out and saw us then walked back in. I think within like 5 min there was a full blown game of football going on. Ashley said he figured the guy went back in and said "girl! There's a girl" and they all came out. It was hilarious.
