Baumholder

The rest of the week with Carrie and Ashley was relaxed and fun. Thursday night we went out to dinner at this place called big Emma's and the food and the beers were Texas sized huge! The boys got a burger and I think it was the smaller one but it was still bigger than my head. I got a liter of beer and you could have even gotten a three liter one I don't know how you would drink except with a straw or something! Ashley pretended to give aubrey some and she was mad when he took it away!

We didn't do a whole lot on Friday night because we had to get up at 2 to leave for Paris on the bus. The bus took like 7 hours to get there so we got there around 10. It dropped us off right outside the eiffel tower but the line was already really long. It took us four hours to get through the line and up to the top and it was raining and cold the whole time. While we waited there were guys working on the tower that had to rappel down so that was cool to watch! When we got up to the top Ashley was about ready to throw Aubrey's stroller off the tower bc it was such a pain. You had to go through these tiny lines and her stroller kept hitting the poles and stuff. I couldn't help but laugh at how mad he was! It was awesome to be up at the top of the eiffel tower but it was so packed with people that it was a bit miserable. I'd love to go back at night or something when there's maybe less people. You could get champagne and wine at the bar up there but it was like 15euro for a small champagne flute. They had this thing on the inside of the floor below the very top that showed you what cities were which way and their tallest building was and how it compared to the eiffel tower. I think the only one that I saw that beat it was that tower in Dubai. After we left the tower, it was already 2:30 and we only had until 8. We found some lunch which was crazy expensive. A cheeseburger was 18euro!!! But i got a salad so I could have a half liter of wine! We did a river cruise through Paris which was probably really cool however all of us kept falling asleep. After that we just went and waited for the bus because it was so close to time to leave. This little girl on he way back sounded like the devil or at least possessed. She screamed for 2 hours and it was like a scream cry growl type of noise. Weirddd. We got back to base at 3 so we all just passed out and thank god Aubrey went along with that plan! Poor Carrie was so exhausted bc she couldn't sleep on the way to Paris. When I woke up the next morning I watched aubrey for about an hour so Carrie could go back to sleep but after a while she started screaming bloody murder. At least Carrie got a tiny nap.

Sunday night was so fun. This lady that Carrie works with had us over and they grilled out probably the best steak I've ever had and what I think is the German version of cole slaw. It was sooo good. And they kept pouring us beers and they were just so nice. I think that's the best part of this trip is just meeting all of the different people. The husband Udo gave me a huge beer mug that Carrie is going to take back home for me. It's going to be so nice to have them in Georgia at ft benning. I'm not sure but I think it's probably only 15 hours from Dallas. They told me to stop by their house when I get back for a few days so Kirby and belle can play. They used to just love each other. Kirby would always be the troublemaker and get belle in trouble too. When I lived with Carrie there was always a dog gate up to keep them in the kitchen, we were always so surprised to see Kirby on the other side of it. We finally had to watch him jump over the dog gate which was the funniest thing he looked like a deer! I miss my little jumping bean!!

Carrie dropped me off at the train station this morning and it was really sad to see her go. They are the kind of friends that it doesn't matter how long you don't talk or see each other but the next time you do you just pick back up and nothing has changed. I just love them!!

Did I mention that ashley and I went to ramstein? its an air force base like 20 min from baumholder. I had to buy a pair of tennis shoes since I stupidly lost mine and Ashley wanted to look at getting a Harley. Carries going to kill him if he gets one and it will be hilarious to watch! Anyways Ashley was trying to get on her good side so he bought some Belgium waffles. Carrie put it in the microwave for like 30 seconds and holy cow best thing I've ever had! It has chocolate on one side and then sugar on the inside or bottom part. It was so awesome I wish I could ship back 1000 of them for everyone to try!
